Position Title: Associate Manager, Sales Planning
Reports to Manager, Sales Planning
The Associate Manager, Sales Planning supports the commercialization and marketing programs within distribution channels on the Baby Gear business. This role is responsible for identifying channel-specific business-building opportunities, working cross functionally to deliver sales and profit targets, and commercialization of the overarching brand/trade strategies. The ideal candidate has experience working in either a sales, sales planning, trade and/or marketing function and possesses an understanding and skill set around channel management, customer strategies, line review processes and management, assortment optimization, and P&L management. This position is responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Consumer Insights, eCommerce, and Finance, to develop and manage strategic distribution channels.
Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• CHANNEL STRATEGY
» Assist in development of channel strategy for key customers to achieve customer and company goals
» Closely collaborate with eCommerce counterparts to ensure activities and strategies are omni in nature
» Develop and maintain sell stories and customer materials (Promotional calendars, planning materials, etc.)
» Use data, customer knowledge, competitive knowledge, and consumer insights to recommend optimal assortment, pricing, distribution, and forecasts
• CHANNEL PLANNING AND EXECUTION
» Lead Line Review process
» Understand business, brand, and customer priorities and uses the line review and planning process to find common ground
» Drive distribution and channel priorities through line review process
» Manages timelines, materials, and cross functional inputs to deliver flawless line review
» Collaborate with cross functional partners, including Sales, Brand Marketing, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Consumer Insights, and Finance.
• INNOVATION EXECUTION
» Support analysis of new product launches
» Complete forecasting tools and provide POV on distribution goals, opportunities, forecasts, and potential white spaces
• PRICING AND TRADE FUND GUIDANCE
» Recommend pricing and promotional activities, including funding, in respective channels. Include in recommendation how achieving customer and company goals.
» Understands trade funds and/or customer programming. Collaborates with cross functional team to make recommendations and analyzes most effective use of spend.
» Aligns recommendations with cross functional team and gains internal approval.
» Track, analyze, and report pricing exceptions and promotional activities.
» Completes and manages P&L documents for pricing, promotions, and strategic initiatives or opportunities.
o 2-4 years proven experience in sales, sales planning, trade and/or marketing function.
o Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a business related field
o Strong ability to work effectively and collaborate across the organization
o Strong communication skills; verbal, written and presentation
o Detail-oriented individual who can drive results
o Strong financial acumen, including knowledge of company and customer P&Ls, is preferred
o Fluent in English (verbal and written)
o Proficient in Windows Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
o Up to 25% travel may be required
o Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
o Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously
o Self-starter who acts with a sense of urgency to drive results
o Proven ability to collaborate across and lead a team to achieve results
o Organized individual with experience leading large cross functional projects
